전주사고 실록각(4P 33.4x21.2cm 종이에 수채 2009) 全州史库 实录阁 Shilokgak in Jeonju Archive 全州史庫 実録閣
어진이 봉안된 정전을 나와 왼편의 작은 문을 통해 돌아나가면 시원하면서도 울창한 대나무 숲이 있다. 키가 작고 꼬부라진 매화나무가 한그루가 부목에 몸을 의지하며 힘들게 기울어 서 있는 뜰의 한편에 조선왕조실록보전기념비가 보이고 그 뒤편 풀밭위로 TV 드라마 <궁>에서 서고로 촬영된 적이 있는 전주사고 실록각이 눈에 들어온다.
전주사고는 한양의 춘추관과 충주사고 그리고 성주사고와 함께 조선왕조실록을 보관하기 위해 세종21년(1449)에 설치하였던 것으로 선조25년(1592) 다른 곳의 조선실록은 모두 소실되었고 오직 전주에 보관되었던 실록만이 화를 면하여 오늘날 우리가 조선왕조실록을 볼 수 있게 된 것이다.
Coming out of Jeongjeon where the portrait of King Taejo is and going through a small door on the left, you will meet a fresh and thick bamboo forest. A small and crooked apricot tree stands leaning against a stick in the yard beside which there's a monument honoring The Annals of the Joseon Dynasty. You can also see the Shilokgak of the Jeonju Archive used as a library in a period TV drama 'Gung'(Palace).
The Jeonju Archive was built at the same time with Chunchugwan in Seoul, Chungju Archive, and Seongju Archive in the 21st year of King Sejong's reign (1449) to keep The Annals of the Joseon Dynasty, and all of the archives were burnt down in the 25th year of King Seonjo's reign. The Annals kept in the Jeonju Archive were saved from disasters and they are the only ones we can see now. |
